The Koha Library Management System is used by the service to manage the following traditional library management tasks online.

Koha Modes / Modules

• Circulation of physical items 
• Patrons: data and account activity
• Lists for management tasks and items for patrons etc.
• Authorities: name and subject records to improve the accuracy of the library catalogue. 
• Cataloging: adding inventory to the service, describing it so that there are enough data access points to prove useful to the users

• Serials: manage print serial subscriptions
• Acquisitions: order items in all formats, with a tie in to budgets and funds for financial oversight. 
• Reports; sql based reporting on usage, patron data and catalogue data 
• Tools: for batch operations etc. 
• Koha administration: system set up and parameters. 

Koha Support 

Support for Koha is available as follows: 

Staff

1. Check the Koha Staff Manual below to ensure the correct workflow is in use. 

2. Use the Koha Support Plugin in Koha. This is the icon at the bottom right of the screen. 

    
1. This gathers important information for the Systems Librarian and the Library Resources Manager about what, where and when about your issue to help with problem-solving. 

Administrators

When an email from the Koha Support Plugin is received. 

    
1. Attempt the task yourself.      
           
   1. If successful, check the staff member's account permissions, and that they are using Chrome, on the latest edition, and have cleared their hostory and coookies. 
           
   2. If not successful check the Koha Online Manual for the current version for system preferences and other setting for set up that may impact on the function being attempted by the staff member
