Citizens Information Board - Information about death and bereavement
The Citizens Information Board provides an overview of practical information for those dealing with the death of someone close to them, including how to register a death and how to deal with a deceased person's estate.
You can also visit your local Citizens Information Centre. You can contact Lo-Call 1890 777 121 or visit http://centres.citizensinformation.ie/ to find your local Citizens Information Office.
If you have been bereaved through a hospice death, it is likely that a bereavement support service will be available in the hospice. Contact the hospice where the death occurred.
If you have been bereaved through an acute hospital, the hospital may provide bereavement support. Contact the hospital social work department or chaplaincy service.
