Welcome to HSE Library

We are dedicated to helping you find material to support your clinical work, evidence-based practice, patient care, PPPGs and research during your time in the health service.

HSE Library is made up of a national team of librarians and library staff. We work to ensure that the best possible research and evidence underpins decision making and advances patient care in the health service. 

Library Membership

In order to access the HSE Library's electronic resources, you must have an an eLibrary Account.

Your account will allow you access to the wide range of electronic resources provided by HSE Library. These include electronic books, electronic journals, bibliographic databases, medicines information and point-of-care tools.

Services available

Request an evidence search We deliver literature searches and evidence summaries for employees and programmes throughout the HSE, to enable evidence-informed decisions at the point of need. 

Trainingrequest individual or group training or see online training calendar. 

Request an Inter library LoanThis service provides on request access to materials that is not currently available in the library collection.  The service is for use for research and study and will not be provided for commercial use or purposes. 

Keep Up to Date HSE Library produce Research Bulletins which include academic journal articles, policies, guidelines, reports and other relevant information.

Knowledge Support:   a member of the Knowledge Support Team works collaboratively with key stakeholders such as HSE National Teams, National Policy Programmes and Special Interest Groups.
