Full text links by LibKey in HLI (trial of new linking technology)

by Thomas Veale on 2023-05-16T09:53:00+01:00 | 0 Comments

Until June 16th, we are running a trial of linking technologies called LibKey. It combines information about e-journal holdings, authentication and article links to deliver one-click access to PDFs. It includes links to full text from publisher and aggregator sources. It is enriched with Unpaywall data to deliver fast access with Open Access articles.

LibKey Link

LibKey Link is a one-click link to pdf version of articles. It now appears on our main platforms; -

  • eLibrary (note also, the link to the complete Journal issue in which the article appears)

  • EBSCO databases (CINAHL etc. )

  • OVID Embase

  • Health Research Premium Collection (ProQuest)

  • PubMed: The link is also used on pubmed if you start a search from this URL. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?otool=iierlislib
  • Google Scholar. Add HSE Libraries to Google Scholar > settings > library links, then the link can also appear in your Google scholar results.

LibKey Nomad (browser extension)

LibKey Nomad is an extension that is added to your internet browser ( e.g. chrome, Firefox ). It provides linking to Library resources when on the webpages such as Wikipedia, Pubmed etc.. It appears as a green drop icon with a download button. Once you click on it, you will get access to the resource. Click here to download.

LibKey.io

LibKey.io allows users to input a DOI or PMID and connect to the full text of articles available via the HLI Library. The link for the HLI custom LibKey.io is: http://libkey.io/libraries/3340
The first time you use LibKey.io via LibKey URL, you may need to select the Health Library Ireland as your library.
